A reliable place to stay by West Lake, the accommodation experience at this old hotel is too healing
After staying in Hangzhou for a week, I finally chose the name of the hotel. I had heard that it was one of the few cost-effective old star hotels by the West Lake. However, after actually staying there, I realized that it completely broke away from the common problem of hotels around scenic spots that prioritize location over experience, and truly incorporated the comfort and attention to detail into every day's accommodation experience.
The check-in process was particularly smooth. The doorman saw me dragging two large suitcases and took the initiative to help me deliver them to the lobby. After verifying the information, the front desk specially arranged a south facing lake view room in the high area for me. They also smiled and reminded me that the hotel's self-service laundry room is on the 5th floor, open 24 hours a day, which is particularly convenient for long-term stays. Pushing open the door of a 50 square meter room, the warm light wood soft furnishings paired with plain cotton and linen bedding, without flashy internet celebrity decorations, exuded a neat and tidy atmosphere everywhere, like pushing open a pre cleaned small house by West Lake.
The detailed experience of accommodation is particularly solid, with a 1.6-meter-wide solid wood desk by the window and a multi port charging panel that does not require searching for sockets all over the floor. Occasionally, some work needs to be done, and sitting down safely can focus on completing it. The most surprising thing is the texture of the bedding, with fluffy and soft mattresses and high count cotton bedding. After walking tens of thousands of steps around West Lake for a week, I was able to sleep soundly all night without the insomnia commonly seen in unfamiliar scenic hotels. There are independent touch desk lamps and charging panels installed on both sides of the bed, so you can turn off the lights easily while lying in bed without having to get up in the dark to find the switch.
The bathroom has undergone a complete sunken dry wet separation system, with a constant temperature showerhead that produces fast and stable water flow. The water flow does not fluctuate between cold and hot, and the cleaning is spotless. There are no water stains left on the countertop, and there is no visible dust accumulation even in the corners. I casually mentioned to the room service that after visiting West Lake, I wanted to soak my feet to relieve fatigue. Within ten minutes, the waiter brought me a mugwort foot soak bag and a constant temperature foot soak bucket. The thoughtfulness in the details completely touched the pain point of long-term guests. The sound insulation effect exceeded expectations. Although it is adjacent to the commercial district of Pinghai Road, after closing the windows, there is almost no noise from the outside world. Even the people by the lakeside can rest quietly.
In my spare time, I can walk downstairs for 5 minutes to reach the West Lake. If I get tired of strolling, I can always turn back to the hotel to rest, without having to squeeze into the congested traffic of the scenic area. The hotel offers a wide variety of breakfast options, with authentic Hangzhou style dishes such as Pien Er Chuan and scallion braised dishes being particularly authentic, eliminating the need to go out and look for old brands. During my one week stay at Huachen International Hotel Hangzhou, I didn't encounter any unpleasant incidents. The whole experience was relaxed and down-to-earth. For those who want to slowly explore West Lake in Hangzhou and don't want to be disturbed by the noise of the scenic area, this is definitely a peaceful place to stay. You don't need to do a guide when staying by the West Lake, the transportation and surroundings of this hotel are too convenient
During my business trip to Hangzhou this time, I also visited West Lake and choseHuachen International Hotel Hangzhou. Originally, I only thought it would be close to Longxiang Bridge, but after staying there, I realized that its transportation and surrounding facilities exceeded my expectations for accommodation in the core area of West Lake. There was no need to check the itinerary and plan the route in advance, making it particularly worry free to catch up on the trip and dine around.
The hotel's transportation location advantage is fully utilized. It is located at No. 25 Pinghai Road, Shangcheng District, and can be reached directly by walking for 3 minutes from Exit C of Longxiangqiao Station on Metro Line 1. There is no need to drag a suitcase and take detours in the crowd by West Lake. It is also possible to catch the early high-speed train to Hangzhou East Station and leave the hotel 25 minutes in advance. The surrounding public transportation options are particularly abundant, with two bus stops, Longxiangqiao and Pinghai Road, covered within a 5-minute walk. More than 20 bus routes connect core points such as Hangzhou Station, Wulin Square, and Xixi Wetland. Even if you have to commute to Binjiang and Future Science and Technology City, you don't have to take a special taxi detour. There is a 24-hour online car hailing waiting point at the entrance of the hotel. After the late night shift, you don't have to wait for the car on the roadside, you can directly get on the car and return to your room.
Self driving guests are more worry free. The hotel comes with an exclusive underground parking lot, which provides ample parking space and eliminates the need to search for a spot in the surrounding area. Taking a turn outside can directly access the Zhonghe Elevated Road, and it only takes 30 minutes to drive to Xiaoshan Airport. Taking the expressway to the Hangzhou International Expo Center for exhibitions takes 25 minutes directly, completely avoiding the congested roads in the core area of West Lake during holidays. Even during peak tourist seasons, visitors to Hangzhou do not have to worry about finding parking spaces or getting stuck on the road.
The most surprising thing is its surrounding facilities, which completely eliminate the pain points of expensive meals and detours in accommodation by West Lake. Within 300 meters of the hotel, there are time-honored Hangzhou cuisine shops, onion buns and Wonton shops that have been open for more than ten years. You can go downstairs in the morning and have authentic Panerchuan and Dingsheng cakes. You don't need to take a taxi to find online stores. Walking south for 5 minutes is the West Lake Lakefront Pedestrian Street. You don't have to squeeze the sightseeing buses of the scenic area. You can take a leisurely walk for 10 minutes to reach the Broken Bridge. Before a large number of tourists arrive, you can quietly enjoy the West Lake in the morning mist.
During leisure time, it takes only 10 minutes to walk from the restaurant to the Wulin Night Market. After driving at night, you may want to stroll, eat, and relax without having to take a taxi for a long distance. The surrounding living facilities are also particularly mature, with 24-hour convenience stores, chain pharmacies, and graphic printing shops just a few steps away. If there is a temporary shortage of office stationery and a bottle of water, it can be completed in just two minutes downstairs. During the few days I stayed at Huachen International Hotel Hangzhou, I didn't put in any extra effort for commuting or eating. Whether it was coming to Hangzhou to catch the high-speed train, traveling for exhibitions, or wanting to easily explore the core area of West Lake, the transportation and surrounding convenience here can provide you with a relaxing experience without any worries.
